Woodworm Infestation
Woodworm left untreated can seriously weaken timber.
Our surveyor visited a property in Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne to investigate potential woodworm.
It was identified that the bedroom floorboards had an ongoing infestation of common furniture beetles.
Our team arrived a few days after the initial investigation to complete the work.
A spray treatment was applied to the whole bedroom floor area covering all exposed timber. It is impossible to say whether all timbers were affected as the larvae stage of the woodworm cycle lasts for 3-4 years, spraying the whole area would control woodworm emerging over the next 3-4 years.
All exposed timbers were brushed down to clean dust and any debris from them, we then applied a two-coat “permethrin” based spray treatment system to all exposed timbers, including the upper and underside of the timbers.
Once dry the sprayed room could be entered 1 hour after the treatment had finished.
A new floor was laid over the treated timber joists.
All our woodworm treatments are covered by a 20-year guarantee
